Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 5's Ned Luke, the voice of Michael De Santa, assures fans that the wait for GTA 6 will be worthwhile, even predicting a staggering $1.3 billion in first-day sales. Read on to discover more about what to expect from GTA 6 and its development.
Rockstar Games: An Unexpected Twist for GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Predicts $1.3 Billion First-Day Sales for GTA 6
Ned Luke, in a recent interview with Fall Damage YouTube channel, boldly predicted a $1.3 billion first-day haul for GTA 6. He highlighted Rockstar Games' unpredictable nature, suggesting the game will be a phenomenal success. Luke emphasized patience, assuring fans, "It's going to be worth the wait. From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." He referenced GTA 5's impressive $800 million first-day earnings in 2013, confidently stating GTA 6 will surpass that significantly. This aligns with DFC Intelligence's projection of over 40 million copies sold and $3.2 billion in first-year revenue, with $1 billion attributed solely to pre-orders.
The Return of GTA 5 Characters in GTA 6?
Luke offered insights into the possibility of GTA 5 characters appearing in GTA Online and potentially GTA 6. He noted Michael's absence from GTA Online since its launch, unlike Trevor and Franklin. He hinted at Michael's possible appearance in a final GTA Online DLC or even GTA 6 itself. While Steven Ogg (Trevor) previously suggested a "passing the torch" scenario for his character in ScreenRant (January 2025), Luke remained coy: "Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not. You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy." Despite the actors' enthusiasm, no official confirmation exists regarding their return.
GTA 6: In the Testing Phase?
Former Rockstar Games animator, Mike York, hinted in a now-deleted interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz (via GamesRadar), that GTA 6 is likely undergoing internal testing. He emphasized the game's unique unpredictability, stating, "There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't." He believes the game is playable, with extensive internal testing already underway, adding, "They're probably still putting in a little work and throwing in little extras."
Since its December 2023 trailer reveal, Rockstar Games has remained tight-lipped about GTA 6. While Take-Two Interactive's 2024 financial report suggested a Fall 2025 release, no official date has been confirmed.
