Gothic 1 Remake Demo Now on Steam

To celebrate the release of the Gothic 1 Remake demo, "Nyras Prologue," THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled a new trailer. Unlike the original Gothic, where you played as the Nameless Hero, this demo lets you experience the game as Nyras, a prisoner fighting for survival in the brutal world of Khorinis.

This Gothic Remake demo, released during the Steam Next Fest, has already shattered concurrent player records for the entire series:

The demo showcases the remake's stunning visuals, enhanced animations, and a revamped combat system powered by Unreal Engine 5. While the prologue doesn't fully capture the expansive freedom and deep RPG mechanics of the complete game, it offers a compelling glimpse into what awaits.

The Gothic Remake is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and GOG). A firm release date is yet to be announced.
