Glauco Longhi, a character artist and developer with a significant history at Santa Monica Studio, recently updated his LinkedIn profile. His new entry reveals he's returned to the studio to oversee character development for an "unannounced project." Longhi's previous work includes contributions to God of War (2018) and a lead role on God of War Ragnarök. His LinkedIn post specifically mentions "Supervising/Directing Character development on an unannounced project, and also helping the studio to continually push and raise the bar on Character Development for videogames."

Adding fuel to the fire, Santa Monica Studio's creative director, Cory Barlog (God of War 2018 reboot), previously stated the studio was working on "a lot of different things." Furthermore, Longhi's profile update coincides with Santa Monica Studio's active recruitment of a character artist and tools programmer, suggesting a growing team and expanding project scope.

Speculation points towards a new sci-fi IP, potentially spearheaded by Stig Asmussen (God of War 3 creative director). While unconfirmed, this aligns with previous rumors and Sony's trademarking of "Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet" earlier this year. Past rumors also suggested a cancelled sci-fi PS4 project from the studio, adding another layer to the intrigue. However, until an official announcement, all remains in the realm of exciting speculation.
