Finn Jones Acknowledges Iron Fist Critiques, Aims to Prove Doubters Wrong

Charlie Cox's portrayal of Daredevil has seamlessly transitioned from Netflix to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sparking speculation about potential comebacks for other members of The Defenders. Finn Jones, who played Iron Fist, recently expressed his eagerness to return, stating, "I’m here and I’m ready." Jones last portrayed Danny Rand in the second season of the Iron Fist Netflix series in 2018 and in The Defenders, where he teamed up with Daredevil/Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter).

Despite Jones' enthusiasm, his portrayal of Iron Fist received mixed reactions from fans, raising questions about whether Marvel would include Iron Fist in future MCU projects. However, the successful reintegration of Daredevil into the MCU has reignited hope for a revival of The Defenders, with recent reports suggesting Marvel is "exploring" the concept.

At the LaConve anime convention in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones addressed the criticism he faced, acknowledging both the desire among fans to see him reprise his role and the skepticism that exists. He passionately appealed to fans and Marvel, saying, "There is a willingness for the fans to see that happen. There’s a lot of willingness for the fans to see that not happen as well. I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, give me a f\*\*\*ing chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen."

Daredevil: Born Again continues the narrative established in the Netflix series, which was part of a smaller-scale Marvel universe that included shows like Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage. This universe is now considered official MCU canon and is available on Disney+, alongside other MCU shows and films. Jon Bernthal's Punisher, another character from the Netflix series, also returns in Daredevil: Born Again.
