FF7 Rebirth PC Specs Unveiled by Square Enix

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth PC Version: A Detailed Look at the Features

A new trailer confirms a wealth of features for the upcoming PC release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, arriving nearly a year after its PS5 debut. The PC port boasts impressive graphical capabilities and enhanced control options.

Released exclusively for PS5 in February 2024, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth quickly became a critical darling and a strong contender for Game of the Year. Following a short PS5 exclusivity period, PC and Xbox gamers eagerly awaited its arrival. While an Xbox release remains uncertain, Square Enix confirmed a PC launch date of January 23, 2025.

Hot on the heels of the PC requirements announcement, Square Enix showcased the PC version's features in a recent trailer. Prepare for stunning visuals with support for up to 4K resolution and a smooth 120fps frame rate. "Improved lighting" and "enhanced visuals" are promised, though specifics remain under wraps for now. Gamers will have three graphical presets (Low, Medium, High) to optimize performance, along with a customizable NPC count setting for CPU management.

Key Features of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC:

  • Mouse and keyboard support
  • DualSense controller support (with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers)
  • Up to 4K resolution and 120fps
  • Improved lighting and enhanced visuals
  • Three adjustable graphical presets: High, Medium, Low, with customizable NPC count
  • Nvidia DLSS support

Notably, while the PS5's DualSense controller is supported, the trailer made no mention of AMD FSR upscaling. This might put AMD GPU users at a slight performance disadvantage.

The extensive feature set bodes well for the PC release. However, Square Enix's PS5 sales figures for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth were reportedly less than stellar, leaving the PC version's commercial success yet to be seen. The January 23, 2025 launch date will be a key indicator of the game's reception on this new platform.
