After months of anticipation, Epic Games has officially launched its store on mobile devices. The Epic Games Store is now accessible on Android devices worldwide, and to celebrate this milestone, Epic is rolling out a range of exciting rewards, including free games and exclusive in-game content.
Which Games Are Available on the Mobile Epic Games Store?
Epic Games is highlighting three major titles on their mobile platform: Fortnite, Fall Guys, and Rocket League Sideswipe. Notably, Fall Guys is now free to download and play on mobile directly from the Epic Games Store.
By downloading the Epic Games Store app and playing any of these games on your mobile device, you can participate in exclusive in-game challenges. These challenges offer unique rewards such as a special Fortnite outfit complete with matching back bling, pickaxe, and wrap, as well as a new Fall Guys bean costume. Additionally, you can earn a Fall Guys-themed pickaxe for Fortnite and a gold vehicle trim for both Fortnite and Rocket League Sideswipe. Keep in mind that these quests are available exclusively on mobile devices.
It’s Not Just About Their Big Three Games
The Epic Games Store on mobile isn't limited to just their flagship titles. Nearly 20 third-party games from various developers are now available on the platform. Epic has also initiated its Free Games program for mobile, starting with Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee, which you can download for free on Android and iOS via the Epic Games Store app until February 20th.
Playdigious, a notable developer, has made three of their games available on the Epic Store: Dungeon of the Endless: Apogee, Shapez, and Evoland 2. They plan to add Cultist Simulator in the coming weeks. Additionally, Bloons TD 6 is set to join the store soon. While the current free game offerings are monthly, Epic aims to transition to a weekly schedule later this year.
Navigating the landscape of third-party app stores has been challenging due to restrictions imposed by Apple and Google. However, Epic Games is making significant strides in breaking through these barriers, enhancing gaming accessibility for users everywhere. What are your thoughts on this development?
