Dungeons & Dragons Live Action Netflix Series in the Works, Could Launch a ‘D&D Universe’

Netflix is developing a live-action Dungeons & Dragons series based in the Forgotten Realms, according to Deadline. The project is helmed by Shawn Levy (director of Deadpool and Wolverine), with Drew Crevello (WeCrashed) serving as writer and showrunner. This Forgotten Realms setting is familiar to fans, having been featured in the recent film Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves and the popular video game Baldur's Gate 3. Deadline describes this adaptation as one of Netflix's largest investments in fantasy television to date. While Netflix and Hasbro have not yet commented, the pilot script is reportedly complete, and the series is moving forward in development.
