Crytek Announces Restructuring, Layoffs, and Crysis Game Delay
Crytek has confirmed a company restructuring resulting in the layoff of approximately 60 employees, representing about 15% of its 400-person workforce. This follows financial difficulties experienced by the company.
Simultaneously, Crytek announced a temporary halt to development on the next Crysis game, a decision made in Q3 2024. The studio is now focusing all its resources on Hunt: Showdown 1896.
Internal efforts to reassign affected staff to other projects, including Hunt: Showdown 1896 and the upcoming Crysis title, proved unsuccessful. Despite cost-cutting measures, layoffs were deemed necessary.

Crytek will concentrate on expanding Hunt: Showdown 1896 content, while the new Crysis game's release is indefinitely postponed. Affected employees will receive severance packages and career assistance.
Despite the challenges, Crytek remains positive about its future, committed to further developing Hunt: Showdown 1896 and advancing its CRYENGINE technology.
