Remedy Entertainment Unveils Development Progress on Upcoming Titles
Remedy Entertainment recently shared updates on its game development pipeline, including the Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, Control 2, and Codename Condor. These updates, revealed in the company's financial report, offer insights into each project's progress and Remedy's overall publishing strategy.
Control 2 Nears Completion
The highly anticipated Control 2 has reached the "production readiness stage." This milestone signifies a fully playable version of the game, allowing the team to focus on large-scale production, including extensive testing and performance optimization to ensure quality standards are met. Additionally, the Control Ultimate Edition, developed in partnership with Apple, is slated for release on Apple silicon Macs later this year.
Codename Condor in Active Development
Codename Condor, the Control universe multiplayer spin-off, is now in full production. The development team is actively creating multiple maps and mission types, with internal and limited external playtesting underway to gather feedback and refine gameplay. This marks Remedy's first venture into live-service games, and it will utilize a "service-based fixed price" model.
Alan Wake 2 and Max Payne Remake Updates
Alan Wake 2's Night Springs expansion has received positive critical and fan reception. The game has already recouped a significant portion of its development and marketing costs. A physical Deluxe Edition will launch on October 22nd, followed by a Collector's Edition in December. Pre-orders are available on the official Alan Wake website.
The Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, a co-production with Rockstar Games, has transitioned from production readiness to full production. The team is currently focusing on refining a complete playable version and implementing key gameplay features to differentiate the remake.
Future Plans for Control and Alan Wake Franchises
Remedy has acquired full rights to the Control franchise from 505 Games, giving them complete control over its future. The company is strategically exploring self-publishing and potential partnerships for both the Control and Alan Wake franchises, aiming to announce more details by year's end. The interconnected nature of these franchises within the Remedy Connected Universe will be central to their future strategy.
Remedy plans to share further updates on its publishing strategy and upcoming game releases throughout the year.
