The Blood of Dawnwalker Devs Are Striving For Witcher 3 Levels of QualityThe open-world vampire RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, crafted by former CD Projekt Red (CDPR) developers at Rebel Wolves, aims to deliver a level of quality comparable to The Witcher 3—but in a more compact package. Dive deeper to uncover the details of this highly anticipated game and hear directly from its directors.

The Blood Of Dawnwalker Aims For AAA Quality

30-40 Hour Main Campaign

The Blood of Dawnwalker Devs Are Striving For Witcher 3 Levels of QualityIn an interview with Games Radar, The Blood of Dawnwalker creative director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz expressed that, despite being a smaller studio launching its debut game, the team is committed to achieving the stellar quality seen in CD Projekt Red’s The Witcher 3. When questioned about the game's classification within the spectrum from indie to AAA, Tomaszkiewicz clarified, "In terms of quality, we definitely look at AAA, because this is where we are coming from, the quality level of The Witcher 3."

While Rebel Wolves may be a new studio, its team is comprised of seasoned industry professionals, many of whom contributed to The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 at CDPR. The studio was founded by Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz and his brother Konrad with the goal of enjoying greater creative freedom, unhindered by the constraints of a larger AAA studio environment.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Devs Are Striving For Witcher 3 Levels of QualityTomaszkiewicz further explained, "Definitely, our games are not as huge in terms of amount of content and gameplay hours - we are a smaller studio, this is our first project, so we definitely are building something smaller. But we want to build something as robust in terms of quality, maybe a bit shorter." He highlighted that The Blood of Dawnwalker aims for a 30-40 hour-long campaign, which is shorter than typical AAA titles. "If size is your measure, then yes it's not the size of a AAA like The Witcher. But I don't know if size is the measure, to be honest, because there are AAA games like Call of Duty that aren't 100+ hours gameplay campaigns. And I don't know if anyone would call them AA, or indie."

The Blood of Dawnwalker is set in the mystical land of Vale Sangora and follows the journey of protagonist Coen, a young peasant who gains vampiric powers and sets out on a mission to save his ailing sister. This narrative sandbox open-world dark fantasy RPG will see players navigating through the challenges and dangers of this mysterious realm.

Although no specific release date has been announced, The Blood of Dawnwalker is expected to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Fans can look forward to a gameplay reveal in the summer of 2025.
