Beloved Sims Character Joins The Sims 4

By ScarlettJun 13,2025

Careful, Sims fans—the Burglar is back.

If you’ve played any of the earlier Sims titles, you’re likely familiar with the infamous Robin Banks. This sneaky intruder has returned in the latest update for The Sims 4, bringing a wave of nostalgia and a touch of chaos to your Sims' lives.

Now rolling out across PC and console platforms, this update reintroduces the Burglar as a new gameplay feature. That means it’s time to double-check your doors and stash those valuables securely—especially at night. Robin Banks typically strikes when your Sims are asleep, but don’t be surprised if she attempts a bold robbery even in broad daylight. Stay vigilant!

To protect against break-ins, Sims can install a burglar alarm. If the Burglar triggers it, law enforcement will arrive promptly to apprehend her and recover stolen items. Even without an alarm, players can still call the police—but timing is key. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, take matters into your own hands with some good old-fashioned vigilante justice. The choice is yours.

Burglar events are relatively rare by default, but if you're craving more mayhem, simply activate the Lot Challenge "Heist Havoc" to increase the frequency of these unpredictable visits.

“We are so thrilled to finally bring the Burglar back into The Sims universe,” shared the Sims development team. “A huge shoutout to our full team for making this happen. Robin Banks isn’t just here to rob your Sims’ houses—she’s here to steal your hearts too! What better way to celebrate The Sims’ 25th birthday than with this nostalgic yet fresh addition? We hope you’re as excited as we are to see what kind of mischief Robin Banks brings to your households.”

Though The Sims 4 is now a decade old—and the franchise itself celebrating its 25th anniversary—its popularity continues to soar. According to EA's Q2 earnings report from late last year, the game attracted over 15 million new players within the past year alone.

Originally a premium title, The Sims 4 took four years to reach 20 million unique players. However, after transitioning to free-to-play in 2022, it gained a staggering 31 million new players almost immediately. As of May 2024, the total player count reached 85 million.

And while fans eagerly await news about the next installment, there are currently [ttpp]no plans for The Sims 5[/ttpp]. But hey—at least Plum is keeping things interesting!
