AFK Journey Explores Underground in New Season: Echoes of Dissent - Now Available

By JosephMay 26,2025

As the temperatures rise, wouldn't it be nice to escape the heat by delving into the cool depths of the earth? With AFK Journey's latest season, Echoes of Dissent, you can do just that! But don't expect a peaceful retreat—the underground world is fraught with its own set of challenges.

In Echoes of Dissent, you'll join Merlin on a mission to Brimstone Village, where tensions are escalating. The situation deteriorates rapidly as you uncover a crisis in the underground elvish kingdom of Sal'Thorin. The kingdom is on the brink, threatened by a diminishing supply of divine dew, which is causing its inhabitants to transform into monstrous creatures.

To tackle these challenges, you'll be joined by two new heroes. Zanie, a resourceful dwarvish inventor, brings her mechanical allies to the fray, while Indris, the captain of the Sal'Thorin Guard, may find his loyalties shifting toward Merlin and their allies due to his growing doubts.

Dwarves are natural sprinters, very dangerous over short distances

While some might be disappointed by the inclusion of elves in what they hoped would be a purely dwarvish adventure, the content in this update is undeniably rich. Alongside Zanie and Indris, you'll meet Valara, Daimon, and Kulu, each adding unique flair to your team.

One of the standout features of this season is the 1v1 elimination tournament, Sunlit Showdown. Here, you'll enter the battlefield without carryover progression, facing three difficulty tiers across six rounds. This event promises to test even the most seasoned players, with valuable loot awaiting at the end!
