"Abyss of Dungeons: Dark and Darker Mobile's New Name Revealed"

By AlexisMay 25,2025

Krafton has taken a significant step to distance itself from the ongoing legal issues involving Ironmace Studios by rebranding Dark and Darker Mobile to Abyss of Dungeons. This move primarily changes the game's name, along with potentially removing certain elements specific to Dungeons & Dragons.

For those unfamiliar with the situation, Ironmace Studios is currently entangled in a legal dispute with Nexon. The allegations center around the misuse of trade secrets, with Nexon claiming that Ironmace, founded by former Nexon employees, utilized assets and ideas developed during their time at Nexon to create Dark and Darker.

Despite the ongoing lawsuit, the name change to Abyss of Dungeons appears to be the most significant alteration. As previously reported in February, there were indications that a name change was on the horizon, and now it has been confirmed.

Although the mobile version had already introduced a third-person perspective and other modifications, fans can rest assured that the gameplay experience will stay consistent.

For fans of Ironmace, this rebranding might be disappointing. However, there is hope that the legal battles will conclude soon, allowing enthusiasts to enjoy Abyss of Dungeons as a companion to the main PC release of Dark and Darker. With an upcoming soft launch scheduled for June 11th in Brazil, Thailand, Indonesia, and Mexico, anticipation is building.
