"Aang Avatar Movie Delayed to October 2026, Unveils New Logo"

By AudreyMay 18,2025

Paramount Pictures has announced significant shifts in its movie release calendar, causing delays for two eagerly awaited Nickelodeon films: The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2. These changes mean fans will have to wait longer to see these films hit the big screen.

According to Variety, The Legend of Aang: The Last Airbender—the highly anticipated film centered on the beloved Avatar protagonist—has been postponed from its original release date of January 30, 2026, to October 9, 2026. This marks a delay of nearly nine months. This is the second time the release date for the follow-up to Nickelodeon's iconic fantasy series has been pushed back, with its initial premiere date set for October 10, 2025. No specific reason for the delay was provided, but it's confirmed that voice actors Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Eric Nam will continue to be part of the project.

The film, which received its official title at last month's CinemaCon, is set to explore the life of the original Avatar protagonist many years after the conclusion of the series. It is the first of three planned movies set within this universe.

Additionally, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem 2 has also faced a delay. Originally slated for release on October 9, 2026, fans will now have to wait until September 17, 2027, to see the continuation of Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo's adventures. This delay adds nearly a year to the wait, leaving fans eager to see how the tantalizing mid-credits scene from the first film will be resolved. While plot and cast details remain under wraps, the Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series offers some content to tide fans over.
