"Last of Us 3 Unlikely to Be Developed"

In recent years, discussions about a sequel to *The Last of Us* have been rampant across online platforms. Despite the polarizing reception of *The Last of Us Part II*, fans were eager for Naughty Dog to refine the series in a third installment or perhaps expand the universe through a spin-off. However, a statement from Neil Druckmann, co-president of Naughty Dog, took even the most dedicated fans by surprise.

During a joint interview with screenwriter Craig Mazin, where they delved into the adaptation of Naughty Dog's acclaimed series and the games themselves, Druckmann opened up about his experiences post-launch of the sequel amidst the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. He admitted to feeling unwell, fixated on various concerns, and how his condition deteriorated when left alone with his thoughts—especially when he had access to the internet. It was during these times that Druckmann found himself reading reviews and engaging with online debates about his game, leading him to question whether he had indeed created something flawed, perhaps even damaging to the franchise's legacy.

When the conversation turned to the possibility of *The Last of Us Part III*, Druckmann sighed, indicating he anticipated the question. Yet, his response was clear and somewhat disheartening for fans: they should not hold their breath for a new *The Last of Us* game, as this might mark the end of the series.
