Application Description

WOE, short for "War of Empire Conquest," is a Real-Time Strategy (RTS) mobile game designed for competitive, player-versus-player (PVP) gameplay. In this dynamic experience, one player initiates a match, while others join to engage in strategic battles against each other. Every unit and building can be manually controlled, offering players unparalleled freedom and control over their strategies.

Key Features

WOE brings to life 18 medieval empires, each steeped in historical richness and distinct identity. These include familiar names such as China, Japan, Persia, Teutonic, Mongolian, Gothic, and Maya, among others. Each empire boasts eight standard units and one unique unit, making every faction uniquely powerful. For instance, Mongolia offers Riders, Persia features War Elephants, and Spain introduces Conquistadors.

Standard Units Overview:

  • Swordsman: A basic yet versatile infantry unit.
  • Pikeman: Effective against cavalry but vulnerable to arrows.
  • Archers: Excellent against pikemen but weak against cavalry.
  • Light Cavalry: Agile and ideal for hit-and-run tactics.
  • Aries: Specialized in siege warfare.

Buildings:

  • Tower: Primarily offensive, capable of shooting six arrows when five farmers are stationed.
  • Turret: Focuses on destroying structures.
  • Castle: Offers robust defense and command capabilities.

Each empire presents balanced strengths and weaknesses, allowing players to explore their unique traits. For example, the Huns require no housing construction, saving valuable time, while their cavalry is resource-efficient and can evolve into Rangers. Conversely, the Teutonic warriors are formidable but slow-moving, reminiscent of historical Spartans.

Gameplay Highlights

The essence of WOE lies in balancing multiple objectives simultaneously:

  1. Economic Development: Constantly produce farmers to collect food and gold efficiently. Temporarily sheltering farmers in Towers or TCs enhances safety.
  2. Harassment Tactics: Initially, send small forces to disrupt enemy farming efforts, building early advantages.
  3. Strategic Destruction: Aim to dismantle enemy forces while ensuring allied survival through coordinated efforts.

Cooperation is crucial; forming legions helps overcome numerically superior foes and shields weaker allied units. Understanding unit synergies is vital:

  • Pikemen counter cavalry.
  • Cavalry dominate archers.
  • Archers excel against pikemen.
  • Camel-mounted Slaves deter cavalry.
  • Koryo Carriages suppress ranged units.

Game Modes

WOE introduces two primary resources: Food and Gold. As the game advances, Town Centers (TCs) progress through eras—from Dark Ages to Feudal, Castle, and Emperor Eras—unlocking advanced technologies and additional units/buildings along the way.

The game offers various modes tailored to different playstyles:

  • Normal Mode: Limited resources demand careful planning. Early harassment keeps opponents off balance.
  • Imperial Deathmatch Mode: Abundant resources allow immediate engagement in intense conflicts.

Longevity and Features

With four years of successful operation in China, WOE has evolved to version 1.8.n, boasting numerous features:

  • Player vs CPU challenges.
  • Multiplayer networking capabilities.
  • Spectator options for observing matches.
  • Replay functionality for reviewing past games.
  • Custom map creation tools.
  • Legion systems for team play.
  • Friend lists and chat functionalities.

Whether you're diving into historical battles or mastering complex strategies, WOE promises an engaging and rewarding experience for all RTS enthusiasts.
