VoiceTra leverages advanced technologies developed by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT), including high-precision speech recognition, translation, and speech synthesis. This allows the app to translate your spoken words into various languages and output them in a synthesized voice, making conversations smooth and natural.

One of the standout features is the ability to instantly switch translation directions. This means two people speaking different languages can easily communicate using a single device. For languages without speech input support, text input is also available, enhancing the app's usability.

• Text input is limited to languages supported by the OS keyboard.
• Proper font installation on your device is required for correct character display.
• The app may be unavailable if the server is down, and users are responsible for any communication fees, including potentially high international data roaming charges.
• Developed for research purposes, VoiceTra uses servers set up for research, and data collected is used to enhance speech translation technologies. For continuous business use, consider private services licensed by NICT.
