Damasi Rules

• The game is played on an 8×8 board where each player starts with 16 pieces arranged in two rows, leaving the back row empty.

• Pieces, or "men," move forward or sideways one square at a time and capture opponent's pieces by jumping over them. Men cannot move backwards. Upon reaching the back row, a man is promoted to a "king," which can move any number of squares forward, backward, or sideways.

• Captures are mandatory and must be made if possible. When capturing, players must choose the sequence that captures the maximum number of pieces. Both men and kings are treated equally during capture, each counting as one piece. If multiple sequences allow for the same maximum capture, the player can choose their preferred sequence.

• The game concludes when a player has no valid moves left, either due to all their pieces being captured or being completely blocked, resulting in a win for the opponent.

• A unique aspect of Turkish Draughts is that pieces are removed immediately after being jumped, allowing for the possibility of crossing the same square multiple times within a single capturing sequence. However, a 180-degree turn between two captures within the same sequence is not permitted.
