Stroop Effect Test

Challenge your brain and experience the Stroop Effect with this interactive app.

This app demonstrates and illustrates a fascinating neurological phenomenon. It occurs when a task challenges the connection between the visual color perceived by the eyes and the written color word processed by the rational mind.

The Stroop test is a true workout for your brain.

Neuroscience background: Visual signals from the eye nerves reach the brain much faster than the rational mind can process words, as vision is immediate while cognition requires time.

Under time pressure to answer correctly, this neural wiring creates an internal impulse to click the wrong answer. You must use willpower, stay focused, and think quickly to provide correct answers in successively shorter times.

How to play:

First, select one of two game modes. It defaults to the Stroop Effect mode, labeled "Get Meaning, Put Color" in the menu.

When a game starts, the first question appears. Tap one of the four color-coded buttons to answer.

Your primary goal is to achieve as many correct answers as possible by the end of the test sequence.

Once you can answer all questions correctly with ease, focus on speeding up your reaction time.

Features:

1. "Get Meaning, Put Color" Mode (Stroop Effect) – Read the word and tap the button colored accordingly.

2. "Get Color, Put Meaning" Mode – Identify the displayed color and tap the button with the matching color name.

3. Questions organized in a timed test sequence.

4. Results displayed after each test.

5. High Scores – Tracks your best performance for each level.

6. Multiple color palettes to suit your preference.
