Palace - Free Classic Card Game (Also Known as Shed, Karma, or "OG")

Growing up in the 90s, Palace was the most popular card game in my high school's study halls and cafeterias. According to Wikipedia, it's also a favorite among backpackers, which has contributed to its widespread popularity.

Challenge eight distinct computer characters, each with a slightly unique playing style, or compete live against your friends.

Basic Rules:

Each player receives three 'face-down cards'. You cannot look at or change these cards until the game's final stages. Next, three 'face-up cards' are placed on top of them. Finally, each player is dealt three cards to form their hand. Optionally, you may swap cards from your hand with your face-up cards.

The player with a 3, or the next lowest card, begins the game.

On your turn, you must discard a card (or multiple cards of the same rank) that is equal to or higher than the card on top of the pickup pile. Then, draw from the deck to maintain at least three cards in your hand, unless the deck is empty or you already have three or more cards.

2s and 10s are wild cards. A 2 resets the pile, while a 10 clears it. A four-of-a-kind also clears the pile, similar to a 10.

If you cannot play a card equal to or higher than the top card, or a wild card, you must pick up the entire pile.

When you have no cards left in your hand and the deck is empty, begin playing your face-up cards. Once all face-up cards are played, proceed to your face-down cards.

The first player to discard all their cards wins.
