Xbox Developer Direct 2025: January 23rd Showcase Announced

Microsoft has unveiled the date for its next Xbox Developer Direct, scheduled for January 23rd. This marks the third annual event, kicking off the 2025 Xbox game showcase season. The event follows the established pattern of January announcements, previously rumored for January 9th.

The broadcast, starting at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm GMT, will be streamed on YouTube and Twitch.

Confirmed Games:

The showcase will feature in-depth looks at three highly anticipated titles:

  • Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: A turn-based RPG from Sandfall Interactive, slated for a 2025 release and confirmed as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title.
  • Doom: The Dark Ages: id Software's latest entry in the Doom franchise, initially revealed in June 2024 and rumored for a mid-2025 launch. A demo was playable at QuakeCon 2024.
  • South of Midnight: A stylish action-adventure game from Compulsion Games (creators of Contrast and We Happy Few), first announced in June 2023. A release date is expected.

Beyond the Confirmed Titles:

While these three games are confirmed, previous Developer Directs have lasted over 40 minutes and showcased multiple titles. The 2024 event included previews of Avowed, Ara: History Untold, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, and Visions of Mana.
