Conquering the Lifer in Wuthering Waves 2.0: A Comprehensive Guide
Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.
Locating the Lifer
The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance is located southwest of the Resonance Beacon near Oakheart Highcourt. Players can climb or use the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer's Board Game
Inside, players encounter a six-piece board game. Controlling black pieces, players aim to create a three-piece line before the Lifer (white pieces). Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens corresponding maze walls and gates. The game can be exited and resumed, preserving piece positions. While not mandatory for combat, the board game is crucial for buff removal. Avoid winning before debuffing the Lifer, as it immediately initiates combat.
Removing the Lifer's Buffs
The Lifer possesses seven buffs; four are removable using the Stake of Imbalance, while three are permanent. These buffs are visible on a glowing yellow module behind the Lifer.
Removable Buffs (Fragility):
- Growing Loneliness: 10% Max HP recovery per second after 2+ seconds without attack.
- Desire for Escape: 25% ATK increase, plus an additional 25% ATK increase every 20 seconds.
- Impending Stalemate: 20% ATK increase per hit (stacks up to 4 times), resetting after 6 seconds without dealing damage.
- Decay of Time: 200% increased resistance to all element types (Glacio, Fusion, Electro, Aero, Spectro, Havoc) and a 25% Max HP increase.
Permanent Buffs (Stability):
- Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
- Endless Game: 50% reduced Immobilization duration.
- Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after taking >25% Max HP damage in a single hit.
To obtain Stakes of Imbalance, use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (glowing white). Some rooms require Tacet Discord defeats or Friable Rock destruction.
Place each Stake of Imbalance in the corresponding module to remove a buff (purple lines turn yellow).
Defeating the Lifer
After removing the four removable buffs, engage the Lifer (significantly weaker). Winning the board game or selecting "Fight it out!" initiates combat. The Lifer's attacks are less threatening without its buffs.
Rewards for defeating the Lifer:
- First Victory: Premium Supply Chest
- Second Victory: Premium Supply Chest + 3 Basic Supply Chests
- Third Victory: Advanced Supply Chest + 3 Standard Supply Chests
Re-enable buffs via the modules for a harder challenge (no achievement).
Lifer Achievements
- The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
- The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times (all nine chests).
- Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
- Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.
For the board game, focus on blocking the Lifer's lines; it will eventually make mistakes.
