Good news for players anticipating Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2! Saber Interactive has officially confirmed the game will launch without any DRM (Digital Rights Management) software. This means no Denuvo or similar technologies will hinder your gameplay experience.
No DRM, No Microtransactions (Except Cosmetics)
Saber Interactive's recent FAQ clarifies that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, launching September 9th, will be DRM-free. While DRM is often used to combat piracy, it's also known to sometimes negatively impact performance. The decision to forgo DRM is a welcome one for many gamers.
However, the PC version will utilize Easy Anti-Cheat software at launch. While generally effective, Easy Anti-Cheat has faced scrutiny in the past, notably concerning an Apex Legends hacking incident.
The developers have also stated that there are currently no plans for official mod support. This might disappoint some players, but the game will still offer a robust experience with features such as a PvP arena mode, horde mode, and a comprehensive photo mode.
Importantly, Saber Interactive assures players that all core gameplay content will be free. Any microtransactions or paid DLC will be strictly limited to cosmetic items.
