Unveiling the Elemental Forces of Wuthering Waves

Wuthering Waves' Version 2.0 introduces significant changes to its elemental system, particularly with Elemental Effects. Previously, elements primarily provided character buffs or enemy resistances. Now, they offer more direct interactions. This guide details these new Elemental Effects.

Elemental Status Effects and Debuffs

While elemental effects existed in earlier versions (primarily applied by enemies), Version 2.0 expands their use. Each element has a unique status effect:

Elemental Effect	Effect Description
Havoc Bane	Stacks periodically, up to 2. At 2 stacks, all stacks are removed, dealing Havoc DMG and reapplying to nearby characters.
Glacio Chafe (Frost Chafe)	Reduces movement speed per stack, up to 10 stacks, resulting in freezing. Players can "Struggle" to thaw faster.
Spectro Frazzle	Stacks reduce over time, dealing Spectro DMG. More stacks = more DMG.
Fusion Burst	Stacks up to 10, exploding at max stacks for significant Fusion DMG.
Aero Erosion	Deals Aero DMG periodically. Stacks don't deplete to deal DMG. More stacks = more DMG.
Electro Flare	Reduces ATK based on stacks (1-4: -5%, 5-9: -7% + Magnetized effect, 10: -10%).

Dodging removes all effect stacks.

Resonators, Echoes, and Echo Sets

Currently, Elemental Effect utilization is limited. Few Resonators, Echoes, or Echo Sets interact with them:

Resonators Applying Elemental Effects:

Only Spectro Rover (post-Version 2.0 update and storyline completion) can apply Elemental Effects. Its Resonance Skill (Resonating Spin) applies 2 stacks of Spectro Frazzle and a Shimmer effect (preventing stack decay), allowing sustained Spectro Frazzle buildup.

Echoes and Echo Sets:

Currently, only one Echo Set benefits from Elemental Effects (primarily Spectro Frazzle for Spectro Rover):

Eternal Radiance Echo Set: 2-piece bonus: +10% Spectro DMG. 5-piece bonus: Applying Spectro Frazzle increases Crit. Rate by 20% for 15s. 10 stacks of Spectro Frazzle grants a 15% Spectro DMG Bonus for 15s.
Nightmare Echo (Mourning Aix): Deals 273.60% Spectro DMG. DMG against Spectro Frazzle-affected enemies increased by 100%. Grants 12.00% Spectro DMG Bonus to the equipped Resonator.

In summary, while Elemental Effects are a new focus, their implementation remains somewhat limited in Version 2.0, mainly benefiting Spectro Rover. Future updates may expand their use.
