Following the State of Unreal 2022 event, Epic Games made Unreal Engine 5 accessible to all game developers. This powerful engine, showcasing advancements in geometry, lighting, and animation, is being utilized in a wide variety of games, from major releases to smaller independent titles. The engine's capabilities were first demonstrated at Summer Game Fest 2020 on a PS5. While 2023 saw several UE5 games released, its full potential is still unfolding, with numerous projects expected in the coming years.
