The thrill of a new Final Destination movie hitting theaters is undeniable. Final Destination: Bloodlines delivers the long-awaited sixth installment of the iconic horror franchise, staying true to form with legendary actor Tony Todd's return. Known for his chilling portrayal of Candyman, Todd delivers a powerful monologue in the film — which producer Craig Perry reveals was entirely improvised, calling the actor's final performance "profoundly moving."
"We were all aware of his declining health," Perry told Deadline, reflecting on both the new film and his two-decade journey with the franchise since its 2000 debut. "Knowing this would likely be his final screen role, and that it was for a Final Destination film, added incredible emotional weight to the moment."
Perry shared how directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein embraced creative risk, allowing Todd to replace scripted lines with heartfelt words.
"Our directors brilliantly suggested, 'Tony, speak directly to the fans. What message would you want to leave them with?'" Perry explained. "The raw emotion in that scene comes from Tony authentically addressing the audience who supported his career. It became a transcendent filming moment — so powerful that it will stay with me forever."
