This guide explains how to obtain and utilize the Crystalarium in Stardew Valley, a valuable tool for efficiently producing gemstones and minerals. The 1.6 update introduced subtle changes to its functionality, particularly regarding relocation and stone replacement.
Obtaining a Crystalarium
To craft a Crystalarium, you need:
- 99 Stone
- 5 Gold Bars
- 2 Iridium Bars
- 1 Battery Pack
This recipe unlocks at Mining Level 9. Alternatively, you can obtain a Crystalarium by:
- Completing the 25,000g Community Center bundle (Vault).
- Donating at least 50 minerals to the Museum.
Using the Crystalarium
Place the Crystalarium anywhere – indoors or outdoors. The Quarry is a popular location for mass production.
The Crystalarium replicates any mineral or gemstone (except Prismatic Shards). Quartz has the shortest growth time but low value. Diamonds offer the highest profit, despite a 5-day production time.
To move a Crystalarium, hit it with an axe or pickaxe. The current gem will drop if it's actively producing. To change the gem being replicated, simply interact with the Crystalarium while holding the desired gemstone. The existing gem will be ejected, and the new one will begin production.
By strategically using the Crystalarium, you can significantly increase your profits and enhance your relationships with Pelican Town's residents. Remember that the choice of gemstone affects both production time and profitability.
