Smite Goes Free: Divine MOBA Now Accessible to All

Smite 2's open beta is now live and free-to-play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), and Steam Deck. This launch coincides with a significant content update from Titan Forge Games.

A year after its initial reveal, Smite 2, built with Unreal Engine 5, delivers a visually enhanced and mechanically refined MOBA experience compared to its predecessor. The core gameplay remains – 5v5 battles featuring gods from diverse mythologies – but with improvements including a revamped item shop offering greater flexibility.

This open beta introduces a wealth of new content:

  • Aladdin: A brand-new god designed specifically for Smite 2, boasting unique wall-running and revival mechanics.
  • Additional Gods: Geb (Egyptian), Mulan (Chinese), Agni (Hindu), and Ullr (Norse) join the roster.
  • Game Modes: The popular 3v3 Joust mode returns, alongside an alpha version of Assault and updates to the Conquest map. A new Arthurian-themed map is also included.
  • Aspects: Optional enhancements for select gods.

The open beta marks a significant step forward for Smite 2, following a successful closed alpha phase. Titan Forge Games has acknowledged player feedback and promises ambitious new content for 2025. While currently unavailable on Nintendo Switch due to performance concerns, the developer remains open to a potential release on the Switch 2. Smite fans can now experience this enhanced sequel.
