Shawn Levy, director of Deadpool and Wolverine, is reportedly in talks to helm a new Star Wars film, with Ryan Gosling potentially starring. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news that negotiations are underway for Gosling's involvement. Levy has been developing this project since 2022, collaborating again with screenwriter Jonathan Tropper (This Is Where I Leave You, The Adam Project).
Details remain shrouded in secrecy. The plot is confirmed to be separate from the Skywalker Saga, and the film is intended as a standalone feature, rather than the first installment of a trilogy. Gosling's role and the film's time period within the Star Wars timeline are currently undisclosed.
