Power Rangers is reportedly getting a live-action series adaptation on Disney+.
The Wrap reveals that Percy Jackson and the Olympians showrunners Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz are in negotiations to write, oversee, and produce a live-action Power Rangers series for Disney+ under 20th Century Television.
According to The Wrap, franchise owner Hasbro aims to reinvent Power Rangers for modern audiences while retaining its loyal fanbase.

The original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers series defined childhood entertainment in the 1990s, captivating young viewers with its teen superheroes and their transforming robot Zords that could merge into a giant battle machine.
Hasbro obtained the Power Rangers IP along with other Saban Properties assets in 2018 through a $522 million acquisition. The toy giant immediately recognized the franchise's growth potential.
"We see Power Rangers fitting seamlessly across our brand strategy, spanning toys, consumer products, digital gaming, entertainment, and global retail expansion," said then-CEO Brian Goldner during the acquisition announcement.
The deal followed the commercially disappointing 2017 film reboot, which attempted a darker take intended to launch a franchise. When the box office returns fell short, Saban offloaded the rights to Hasbro shortly afterward.
Hasbro's current multimedia ventures include Netflix's in-development Dungeons & Dragons: The Forgotten Realms series, an animated Magic: The Gathering adaptation also at Netflix, and plans for a broader Magic: The Gathering cinematic universe.
