The latest expansion for Pokémon TCG Pocket, Shining Revelry, has brought dazzling new shiny variants into the mix, along with over 110 new cards from the Paldea region. The excitement of these additions had me eager to spend my Pack Hourglasses on a 10-pack pull. While I was thrilled to pull a Charizard EX, the rest of my haul was less exciting. However, drawing the Pokémon Center Lady card was a silver lining, as her ability to heal Special Conditions is a crucial advantage, especially against debilitating effects like Burn.
As with previous updates, Shining Revelry introduces an Emblem event, offering players a chance to earn new badges to show off. But the real excitement comes with the introduction of Ranked Matches. Starting soon, you'll be able to compete against other Trainers, climbing from Beginner to Master Ball Rank. Your performance will be tracked with points, and at the end of the season—lasting about a month—you'll be awarded an emblem reflecting your rank. This new feature has me motivated to dust off my deck-building skills and get back into the competitive scene.
If you're eager to dive into the action, you can download Pokémon TCG Pocket for free on the App Store and Google Play, though there are in-app purchases available.
