Pokémon Go Haunted Tea Party Kicks Off Halloween

• Poltchageist and Sinistcha make their debut appearance

Halloween returns to Pokémon Go, and this year's spooky celebrations are infused with tea-themed elements. Part I of the Halloween 2025 event introduces the spectral duo Poltchageist and Sinistcha, known as the Matcha Pokémon, inviting you to a haunting tea party you'll remember for a long time. The event runs from October 21st to 27th, starting just a few days after the Harvest Festival concludes.

Poltchageist and Sinistcha are making their frightening debut during Halloween Part I, with Poltchageist evolving into Sinistcha for 50 Candy. If you're especially fortunate, you might even encounter Shiny Sinistea for the first time in Pokémon Go. Be sure to inspect it carefully before it vanishes into the darkness.

The Halloween 2025 Go Pass also offers stacked bonuses at each tier, including increased Catch and Transfer Candy and improved chances of earning Candy XL for higher-level Trainers. Wild encounters will feature Zorua, Hisuian Zorua, Greavard, and, naturally, Sinistea hiding in the shadows. You might even come across something shinier than anticipated.

Raids (check out the full monthly schedule!) are where things get particularly spooky. One-Star Raids include Galarian Yamask, Sinistea, and Poltchageist, while Alolan Marowak and Hisuian forms of Typhlosion and Samurott appear in Three-Star Raids. Shadow Yamask and Shadow Phantump are also making their first appearance in Shadow Raids, if you're courageous enough to challenge them.

Field Research tasks provide additional opportunities to encounter ghostly Pokémon like Sableye, Yamask, Zorua, Litwick, and Phantump, and some Trainers may even encounter the elusive Spiritomb. You can also earn Mega Energy for Pokémon such as Gengar, Houndoom, and Banette. Finally, the chilling Lavender Town theme music returns once again, along with themed stickers and other avatar items.
