Nintendo has officially issued its anticipated Switch 2 release-day delivery warning to U.S. fans, echoing earlier concerns about meeting demand in Japan.
The company updated its website to notify potential buyers registered through My Nintendo Store that June 5 delivery isn't guaranteed. Invitation emails might arrive after the console's launch, though shipping dates will be confirmed upon purchase.
"We sincerely appreciate your interest in purchasing through My Nintendo Store," Nintendo stated.
"The overwhelming response to Nintendo Switch 2 has been incredible! Given unprecedented demand, we're working hard to process orders as stock becomes available, but can't promise June 5 delivery. Your invitation may come post-launch, with shipping details confirmed at checkout."
Nintendo now suggests third-party retailers may offer better launch-day availability—an alarming indication as Switch 2 pre-orders already sold out overnight.
"For improved launch-day purchasing opportunities, consider our retail partners," the statement advised, referencing a now-sold-out GameStop listing.
"Registered users awaiting My Nintendo Store invitations need take no further action."
