Genki, a prominent handheld gaming accessory developer, unveiled a 3D-printed Nintendo Switch 2 mockup at CES 2025, revealing several key features. This model, reportedly based on a black market acquisition, accurately reflects the console's dimensions and design.
Key features showcased include:
- Magnetic Joy-Con: CEO Eddie Tsai confirmed magnetic SL and SR buttons, detaching via a pin mechanism. Despite the magnetic design, the Joy-Con remain securely attached during gameplay.
- Optical Sensors: Optical sensors integrated into the Joy-Con's mounting channels suggest potential mouse functionality via a yet-to-be-released accessory. Leaked images appear to corroborate this.
- Second USB-C Port: The mockup featured a second USB-C port, the purpose of which remains unknown.
- Mysterious "C" Button: A new button labeled "C" was also present, its function currently undisclosed.
