PlatinumGames appears to be working on a new online project following recent job postings. After their previous attempt with Babylon's Fall, Tech4Gamers reports the studio is seeking a game designer with "experience in online action game development" and expertise in "level design for online or open-world games."

Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer facilitated the collaboration between Team NINJA and PlatinumGames for Ninja Gaiden 4, according to producer Fumihiko Yasuda in a Game Watch interview. While Team NINJA had long wanted to revive the franchise, they needed creative support to move forward with the project.

Ninja Gaiden 4 was officially unveiled during Microsoft's Developer_Direct event, ending a 13-year wait for the franchise's next main installment. The fall 2025 release is being co-developed by Team NINJA and PlatinumGames. The presentation also included the surprise launch of Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, an enhanced version of the 2008 title.
