Morikomori Life is now officially available on Android and iOS, though currently exclusively in Japan. This release is being handled by Realfun Studio. Previously, the game was published in China by Level Infinite, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, but the Chinese version was removed approximately one year ago.
The Rural Farm Life Simulator Returns
One of the game's standout features is its visual style. The developers have masterfully captured a cozy, inviting atmosphere through anime-inspired artwork, reminiscent of Studio Ghibli’s signature aesthetic. This isn't a generic AI imitation; the environments genuinely look as if they were lifted directly from a Ghibli film.
In terms of the story, you take on the role of Kaon, a young Japanese woman. Her journey begins when she receives a cryptic letter from her grandmother, inviting her back to her childhood village, Komori.
Your adventure involves rediscovering the simple pleasures of a peaceful, rural existence. The charming 3D toon-shading brings the Japanese countryside to life, evoking the warmth and authenticity of a real-life pastoral landscape.
If you think that sounds like an exaggeration, see for yourself. Below are a few official Morikomori Life trailers that showcase the game's stunning visuals.
Experience a Slow-Paced Lifestyle in Morikomori Life
The game focuses on everyday life activities. You'll spend your time farming, cooking, fishing, foraging, and even constructing your own home. Gathering resources like wood and ore while exploring uncovers rare materials.
As you accumulate these resources, you unlock new opportunities to upgrade your house and enhance your daily routine. You can customize Kaon's appearance to your liking, befriend villagers, prepare meals with foraged ingredients, and assist locals with various tasks.
Morikomori Life offers extensive character customization to express your personal style. An open-world element provides the freedom to roam and discover numerous small, delightful surprises throughout the village.
The game is currently available on Android in Japan. Players in the region can download it from the Google Play Store. There has been no official announcement regarding a global release at this time.
