Moon Knight Will Return, but Not in a Season 2, Marvel Exec Says

Marvel's Moon Knight: Future Appearances Confirmed, Season 2 Unlikely

While a second season of Moon Knight on Disney+ is off the table, Marvel Studios head Brad Winderbaum assures fans that Oscar Isaac's character will return to the MCU in a different capacity. This shift in strategy reflects a change in Marvel Television's approach.

Previously, Marvel Television focused on establishing characters through individual shows before integrating them into larger MCU projects, as seen with Ms. Marvel's introduction before her role in The Marvels. However, the division is now adopting a more traditional television model with annual releases.

Winderbaum clarified this change in direction: "Moon Knight was part of a wave of shows establishing characters for future tie-ins. Moving forward, our priorities have shifted to shows that function as standalone annual releases, more like traditional television. While I'd love a Season 2, there are definitely plans for Moon Knight in the future."

Isaac's voice work as Moon Knight in Marvel's What If...? is a testament to the character's continued presence within the MCU. However, details regarding his next live-action appearance remain undisclosed.
