Capcom recently held a Spotlight and Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase, revealing significant updates for several titles. Key announcements included new details for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, a Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny remaster, a release date for Capcom Fighting Collection 2, and extensive information on Monster Hunter Wilds.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword – A 2026 Release

Play Set in the Edo period, this new Onimusha entry features a new protagonist wielding an Oni Gauntlet to battle Genma. Development prioritizes compelling characters, engaging enemies, and a historically accurate recreation of Kyoto. The gameplay aims for challenging yet accessible sword combat.

Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny Remaster – Coming in 2025

Play A remastered version of the 2002 classic is slated for release in 2025, bridging the gap until Onimusha: Way of the Sword's launch.

Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta 2 Details

Play The second Open Beta test introduces the flagship monster, Arkveld, in a challenging advanced quest. Other additions include a Gypceros Hunt, a training area, Private Lobbies, and Online Single Player mode. Data from the first beta can be transferred. The beta runs:

  • Thursday, February 6, 7 PM PT – Sunday, February 9, 6:59 PM PT
  • Thursday, February 13, 7 PM PT – Sunday, February 16, 6:59 PM PT

Play Character data transfers to the full game (February 28 release), but progress does not. Participants receive a special Pendant.

Monster Hunter Wilds – Iceshard Cliffs and New Monsters

The new story trailer showcased the Iceshard Cliffs, introducing new monsters: Rove, Hirabami, Nerscylla, and Gore Magala. Further details on the flagship monster, Arkveld, were also revealed.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 – May 16, 2025 Release

Play Launching May 16, 2025, this collection includes Capcom vs. SNK Millennium Fight 2000 Pro, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Power Stone, Power Stone 2, Project Justice, and Plasma Sword.

Street Fighter 6 – Mai Shiranui Arrives February 5

Play Mai Shiranui from Fatal Fury joins the roster on February 5, preceding the final Year 2 character, Elena.
