MindsEye, the upcoming title from Build A Rocket Boy—studio led by former Rockstar North lead Leslie Benzies—has officially announced its release date and pricing structure. The game is set to launch on June 10, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Alongside the reveal of a new trailer, the developer has confirmed that MindsEye will carry a $59.99 price tag at launch, positioning it as an accessible alternative to the rising trend of $70–$80 AAA titles.

According to the official description, MindsEye is a linear story-driven campaign set in the near-future metropolis of Redrock. Players take control of Jacob Diaz, a former soldier whose mysterious MindsEye neural implant unlocks fragmented memories, leading him into a world-shaking conspiracy involving rogue AI, corporate corruption, military overreach, and a threat to humanity’s very survival. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the game promises cutting-edge visuals and immersive storytelling.

What's Included At Launch?

For $59.99, players gain access to a tightly crafted single-player campaign, along with a “single-player free roam” mode that allows exploration of Redrock beyond the main storyline. Additional content includes:

  • A horde mode mission titled Destruction Site Shootout
  • Two combat missions: Honor Amongst Thieves and Friendly Fire
  • Six races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races

Players who opt for the premium pass will receive additional content, including one extra horde mode mission and an exotic cosmetics pack. This adds even more gameplay variety for those looking to expand their experience right from launch.

Pricing Strategy in Today’s Market

At $59.99, MindsEye positions itself as a competitive alternative in a market where many major publishers are pushing prices higher. Nintendo recently increased the standard price to $80 with the release of *Mario Kart World*, while Microsoft plans to follow suit this holiday season. Other industry leaders like Gearbox with *Borderlands 4* have also sparked debates around value and pricing expectations.

Despite the upward pricing trend, mid-tier games priced at $50 have seen notable success, such as *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33*. 2K has also opted for the $50 price point with its upcoming title *Mafia: The Old Country*. MindsEye appears to sit comfortably between these two brackets, offering a full AAA experience without the top-tier cost.

Post-Launch Content Roadmap

Build A Rocket Boy has committed to supporting MindsEye with ongoing post-launch content. The studio promises a continuous stream of premium updates delivered monthly, ensuring that the game remains fresh, dynamic, and engaging over time. These updates will include new missions, challenges, and assets designed to enhance both player-created and official experiences.

The 2025 roadmap outlines the following schedule:

  • Summer: Community-focused updates and new mission releases
  • Fall: Introduction of new single-player modes, multiplayer features, and additional missions
  • Winter: Free roam enhancements alongside more missions

Premium pass holders will enjoy exclusive access to bonus missions and asset packs throughout the year, further extending the game’s longevity and replayability.

Community Creation System

One of the standout features of MindsEye is its PC-exclusive game creation system. Designed to empower players, this toolset grants access to all in-game assets, allowing fans to craft custom experiences limited only by imagination. The developer envisions a future where community creations play a central role in keeping the game alive for years—even decades—to come.
