NetEase Games has issued a ban on players using keyboard and mouse adapters with their PS5 and Xbox Series consoles in Marvel Rivals. The company cites unfair competitive advantages due to increased control precision and aiming assistance retention as the reason for the ban.
Adapters such as XIM, Cronus Zen, Titan Two, KeyMander, and Brook Sniper, which simulate gamepad input from keyboard and mouse controls, are specifically targeted. This gives players a significant edge, particularly in competitive modes with auto-aim enabled.
NetEase's statement clarifies that any device or program emulating gamepad control via keyboard and mouse is considered a violation. The company employs sophisticated detection tools to identify adapter use, resulting in account suspension upon detection.
Separately, the game has shown a correlation between higher FPS and increased ping. While less noticeable with low ping, a jump to 150ms from a typical 90ms can significantly impact gameplay. This issue appears linked to frame rate. Until a patch addresses this, players are advised to experiment with FPS settings to find an optimal balance between frame rate and ping. Maintaining around 90 FPS is currently suggested by some players, although this may contrast with expectations from other competitive titles.
