Secure a Free Bow Early in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Early-game combat in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be challenging, leaving you under-equipped. Fortunately, acquiring a free bow early on is achievable. This guide details how to obtain the Dogwood Village Bow without spending a single groat.
After parting ways with Hans, your path to the wedding involves either working for a blacksmith or miller. Regardless of your chosen profession, the blacksmith's location on your map conveniently leads you to the bow. While the blacksmith job offers access to Semine's wedding, it also unlocks the hermit's sword later.
The blacksmith's workshop is in Tachov, north of Troskowitz. From Troskowitz, head west, then follow the path north. At the fork where a smaller road branches west, turn right towards a cluster of trees. A small training area, easily overlooked, is nestled within.
Within this area, you'll find a target with arrows – free ammunition! To the right of the target, leaning against a tree trunk, lies the Dogwood Village Bow. You'll also find brew on a nearby stump and harvestable mushrooms. Once you've gathered your supplies, proceed with your quest.
Alternative Acquisition Methods
While purchasable from Huntsman's Son Vitek in Tachov, buying the Dogwood Village Bow isn't recommended due to its relatively weak stats and proximity to the free alternative. Vitek offers superior weapons, and you can supplement your income through alchemy.
Regardless of your chosen method, having a ranged weapon significantly improves combat, especially for players who prefer ranged combat over melee. The combat system remains largely unchanged from the first game.
After securing the bow, continue to Tachov to become a blacksmith (saving after forging a sword), or proceed to the miller to advance the main quest.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
