Nintendo unveils its San Francisco store today, May 15, located in Union Square at 331 Powell Street. Nintendo San Francisco marks the company’s second official U.S. store, following the popular New York location, previously known as the Nintendo World Store, which underwent renovations and rebranded as Nintendo NY before reopening in 2016.
IGN visited the San Francisco store to explore what Nintendo has in store for fans. We also spoke with Nintendo of America president Doug Bowser to discuss the significance of opening the company’s first West Coast retail location.

Naturally, we delved into details about the Nintendo Switch 2, set to launch on June 5. We asked Bowser about the Switch 2’s U.S. availability at launch and beyond, the debated Game-Key Cards, and much more.
