Infinity Nikki Players Threaten Uninstall Over Controversial Update 1.5 Changes

By OliverMay 14,2025

Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have hit Steam, but they've been accompanied by a parade of drama. Infold Games’ stylish dress-up adventure, after months of Epic Game Store exclusivity, made its way to Valve’s digital storefront. What should have been a moment for fans to celebrate has turned into a disappointment due to a wardrobe of technical issues, perplexing design changes, and demanding outfit requirements. The developers have issued an apology and promised compensation, but the battle for Infinity Nikki is far from over.

.reddit-embed-wrapper iframe { margin-left: 0 !important; }Infinity Nikki PC players eagerly anticipated the Steam release, but were greeted with technical issues such as game crashes and general instability. While technical hiccups at launch are not uncommon, players also voiced concerns about more than just performance.

The introduction of two new five-star outfits, Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember, each requiring 11 pieces, has caused alarm among the player base. This means up to 220 pulls—and significant spending—to collect full sets, a number far greater than what players are accustomed to. The fear is that these requirements will only increase, making the game less accessible.

Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event from two to three weeks, causing confusion within the community. Amidst these technical issues and the introduction of more demanding monetization practices, the Chinese player base took to the social media platform RedNote to voice their discontent. This quickly escalated into a global movement, with players calling for a boycott of Infinity Nikki on Steam, urging others to leave negative reviews and uninstall the game across all platforms.

“Holding back your pulls for a couple of days can help show we want IN to remain fun and fair for all players,” Reddit user kiaxxl emphasized in a call-to-action post. “For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days. Holding back your pulls can send a strong message to the digital income trackers for the game.”

The backlash has had an impact. Infinity Nikki now holds a "Mixed" rating on Steam as players leave negative reviews, warning potential newcomers to stay away until their demands are met and their grievances addressed.

The boycott gained enough momentum that Infold issued an apology letter across its official channels. They've addressed many of the prominent technical issues and promised better communication regarding future adjustments.

Apology Letter Regarding Version 1.5 Gaming Experience

Dear Stylists,
Hope this message finds you well.
First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies. We are truly sorry that we were unable to provide you with a stable experience upon the release of the new… pic.twitter.com/YEjpGQpKho

The apology included promises to revert Mira Crown to end on May 16 and start the next season the same day, alongside compensation of 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds. While these are steps in the right direction, they fall short of the comprehensive changes many players were hoping for.

While some see Infold's concessions as a victory, others remain concerned about the decision to maintain 11-piece outfits. The studio has promised improved communication, yet it appears that some five-star outfits will still require 11 pieces.

I wish you would finally change the drop rate.. it can't be that I need 200 pulls to get a 5-star and then you drop like 5 banners within weeks?! Make the rate lower or give us more diamonds to be able to get crystals.. this is not fun!

Players are celebrating the swift changes they've influenced, but boycotters urge the community to keep the pressure on. “Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will **be** 11 pieces,” Reddit user EdensAsmr said. “Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners? That means you have to save even more to be able to handle it, and 70-80 pulls per patch will **not** cut it.”
