Hearthstone's expansive Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, boasting a record-breaking 49 new cards, launches January 21st. This significant addition to The Great Dark Beyond expansion features class-specific and multi-class cards themed around StarCraft factions: Zerg (Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, Warlock), Protoss (Druid, Mage, Priest, Rogue), and Terran (Paladin, Shaman, Warrior). The set also includes a single neutral Legendary card.
Initially teased during the November 13th, 2024 Warcraft Direct, the Mini-Set represents a crossover between Hearthstone and StarCraft. The full card list was recently revealed, showcasing a diverse range of mechanics. Zerg cards emphasize summoning Zerglings and leveraging Hydralisks for swarm-based damage. Protoss cards focus on mana manipulation, enabling the deployment of powerful cards like the Carrier. Terran cards utilize the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond, introducing new Starship Pieces and strategies.
Acquiring the complete Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set costs $20 (or 2500 gold), a slight increase from previous Mini-Sets. A golden version is available for $80 (or 12,000 gold). Alternatively, players can purchase individual faction packs (Protoss, Terran, or Zerg) for $10 (or 1200 gold) each.
To celebrate the launch, Hearthstone is hosting two streamed events:
- StarCast (January 23rd, 10 AM PST): Featuring StarCraft legends TrumpSC and Day9 showcasing the new cards.
- HearthCraft (January 24th, 9 AM PST): Hearthstone community creators compete in faction-based matches and mini-games.
