Fallout 76 Season 20 Out Now
Unleash the Ghoul Within
Fallout 76's latest update, "The Ghoul Within," now live as of March 18, brings a host of ghoul-related enhancements, mechanics, and new cosmetics to revamp your C.A.M.P. To become a Ghoul, players must complete the "Leap of Faith" questline, which leads to a new area in the Savage Divide and introduces new characters that assist in your transformation.
Transforming into a Ghoul unlocks exclusive abilities such as Glow and Feral, along with 30 unique Ghoul-exclusive Perks. The Feral ability replaces traditional hunger and thirst mechanics, providing boosts based on the Feral meter's level. At 0%, players experience dramatic gameplay changes, gaining +150% Melee Damage but losing -5 Endurance, -99 Charisma, -30 Max HP, -20 Max AP, and -300% Hip-fire and V.A.T.S. Accuracy.
On the other hand, the Glow ability allows players to consume radiation, granting immunity to diseases and mutations, and causing them to emit a visible glow. This ability boosts maximum health, heals damage, and enhances the effectiveness of Ghoul-exclusive Perks, or "Gherks." Players have 28 Gherks to choose from, along with 2 new legendary perks, though certain perks related to Hunger, Thirst, and Chem Resistance are unavailable to Ghouls.
A Day In The Life of A Ghoul
As a Ghoul, navigating the radiation-saturated wasteland becomes more manageable with the new Gherks and abilities. However, interactions with factions like the Brotherhood of Steel may turn hostile, potentially locking players out of certain questlines. Fortunately, a new NPC named Jaye offers disguises that allow access to restricted content. If the Ghoul lifestyle doesn't suit you, players can revert to human form via the Character Screen, but this is a permanent change unless you spend 1000 Atoms to retransform into a Ghoul.
Level 50 Character Boost and Season 20 Patch Notes
New and veteran players alike can now take advantage of the Level 50 Character Boost, available for 1500 Atoms, to quickly engage with multiplayer features like Daily Ops, Public Events, and story content. The Season 20 update also includes various bug fixes, balance adjustments, accessibility improvements, combat tweaks, and weapon damage modifications. Fans should mark their calendars for the upcoming "The Big Bloom" update on April 29.
