Bandai Namco Entertainment and A24 have jointly announced the development of Elden Ring's live-action film adaptation today.

Oscar-nominated filmmaker Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Civil War) will direct the project, aiming to translate the game's expansive world and visceral combat onto the big screen. The production team includes DNA Films' Peter Rice, Andrew Macdonald, and Allon Reich, alongside Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin and executive producer Vince Gerardis. No confirmation yet regarding FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki's involvement.

Recognized with 324 Game of the Year awards, the franchise expanded with its highly praised 2024 DLC Shadow of the Erdtree. Now entering 2025, FromSoftware prepares to launch two major new titles.

Elden Ring Nightreign, releasing May 30th for PC and current-gen consoles, offers cooperative multiplayer gameplay in the new Limveld setting. Meanwhile, the Nintendo Switch 2 will receive Elden Ring Tarnished Edition, bundling all existing content with new armor sets and mount customization options.
