Locating Merchantburg (???)

After obtaining the ship from the King of Portoga (following the Black Pepper quest), Merchantburg is accessible. Its quest marker appears in the northeast corner of the world map. Sail west from the coast to reach the easternmost edge of the eastern continent.

Optimal Timing for Visiting Merchantburg

While orb collection order is flexible, establishing Merchantburg early is recommended. The town's growth takes time, so starting early allows parallel progress on other orbs.

Acquiring the Yellow Orb

Establishing Merchantburg:

1. Hire a Merchant from PALS in Aliahan. Minimize combat en route to preserve your new party member.
2. In Merchantburg's single building, speak to the old man. He needs a merchant to found the town. Offer your newly hired merchant. The town will then be named after your merchant.

Returning to Merchantburg:

Merchantburg undergoes five growth stages. You'll receive notifications to return and observe its progress. The fourth visit culminates in a large club's construction. Be wary of the security guard outside the cabaret who attempts to overcharge you.

By the fourth visit, the townsfolk's attitude towards the merchant may sour, foreshadowing his eventual downfall and the Yellow Orb's availability.

Obtaining the Yellow Orb:

Visit Merchantburg at night during your fifth visit. The merchant will be absent. His home, now south of the original building, will hold him captive. Speak to him to learn the Yellow Orb's location. Return to his former home; the orb is marked behind the sofa.
