Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile game featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters in a new universe, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the End of Service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.
The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months of gameplay remaining before the servers are permanently closed.
Have You Played It?
Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse is an action RPG where players battle alongside redesigned Disney and Pixar characters. Kabam advises players to complete the final storyline before the game's closure.
Initial excitement among Disney fans quickly waned due to a lengthy two-year early access beta period and infrequent content updates, leading to player attrition.
The Disney Mirrorverse EOS Announcement
The game ultimately failed to reach its full potential. Its demanding shard collection system hindered character progression unless players invested significant funds. However, the game's character designs were praised for their creativity and visual appeal.
Adding to the disappointment, Kabam released new story content and a playable Cinderella character just a week before announcing the EOS, catching many players off guard. This isn't Kabam's first abrupt game shutdown; they previously ended Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off without much warning.
