Digimon’s New Mobile TCG Digimon Alysion Is In Development

During the DIGIMON CON 2025 Livestream on March 20, Bandai Namco announced Digimon Alysion, a new mobile TCG that is currently in development. This move aims to tap into the success of other mobile card games like Pokémon TCG Pocket and Marvel Snap, expanding the Digimon TCG's audience to mobile players.

Digimon Alysion will be a free-to-play digital trading card game, allowing players to collect cards featuring various Digimon and characters from the franchise, build decks, and engage in battles with other players. A standout feature of Digimon Alysion is its speculated in-depth story mode, which will offer players more than just standard and competitive gameplay.

Along with the announcement, Bandai Namco unveiled a trailer for Digimon Alysion, which provided a glimpse into the gameplay and introduced an all-female cast speculated to be part of the story mode. The new characters introduced are Kanata Hondo, Futre, and Valner Dragnogh, along with a new Digimon called Gemmon.

While there's no official release date for Digimon Alysion, the presentation hinted at an upcoming closed beta test, with more details to be shared later.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger More Details Revealed

DIGIMON CON 2025 also provided further insights into Digimon Story: Time Stranger. Producer Ryosuke Hara discussed the game's background, main characters, and showcased the special moves of some featured Digimon.

Hara confirmed that players can select from three starter Digimon at the game's outset: Patamon, Gomamon, and DemiDevimon, all beloved characters from the original Digimon Adventure anime. These Digimon were previously speculated to be the starter options due to their presence in the game's main promotional artwork.

Additionally, Time Stranger will boast an extensive roster of over 450 Digimon, surpassing its predecessor, Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth - Hacker’s Memory, which featured 330 Digimon. Some of the Digimon highlighted in the new trailer include Angewomon, Gallantmon, and the fan-favorite Agumon.

Hara also shed light on the game’s narrative and introduced the main characters. Players can choose between two protagonists, Dan Yuki and Kanan Yuki, both secret agents for ADAMAS, an organization tasked with investigating mysterious threats to humans and Digimon. The main heroine, Inori Misono, along with her partner Aegiomon, will join players on their journey. As suggested by the game's title, time manipulation will play a central role, with the protagonist navigating through different eras.

The event also featured various other announcements, including a 25th Anniversary PV for the Digimon Anime, new starter decks and booster packs for the Digimon Trading Card Game, and the upcoming anime series, Digimon Beatbreak, set to premiere in October 2025.
