Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for iOS and Android devices. This Tencent-developed title, launching late January 2025, marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market, blending diverse missions and modes with tactical gameplay.
For those unfamiliar, the Delta Force franchise is a veteran of the FPS genre, predating even Call of Duty. Inspired by the renowned US military special forces unit, the series has always emphasized realistic weaponry and gadgets.
Level Infinite's reboot skillfully incorporates various game modes. "Warfare" mode delivers large-scale combat reminiscent of Battlefield, while "Operations" focuses on extraction-style gameplay. A single-player campaign, drawing inspiration from the Battle of Mogadishu and the film "Black Hawk Down," is also planned for 2025.
Combating Cheaters
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force hasn't escaped controversy. Tencent's aggressive anti-cheat measures, employing G.T.I. Security, have drawn criticism for their intensity. While these measures may be less impactful on mobile platforms, the initial PC-related backlash could still affect overall reception.
